Robert Unwin was my great great great grandfather.I have not yet been able to trace his birth/christening, but he was born about 1770/1.
He was admitted as a burgess of Liverpool on 27th May 1796, which entitled him to vote in elections. This was achieved by servitude to William Dutton (baker) for 7 years service from 1st October 1785.A certificate was granted for 6/8d. William Dutton had been sworn free on 1st April 1773.
Robert voted for Joseph Birch in the 1802 Election (Tuesday 6th July).The result was declared on Friday 9th July 1802, and was as follows:-

Robert married my great great great grandmother Margaret Airey at St.Thomas's Church, Liverpool on 20th November 1800.
He was a baker after serving his apprenticeship for William Dutton (probably his uncle) of Dale Street, Liverpool for 7 years from 1st October 1785.
Robert died at Seacombe, Cheshire in August 1850, and was buried at St.James's Cemetery, Liverpool on 18th August 1850.
Margaret, Robert's wife was born about 1776. She died at Windsor Street, Liverpool in December 1833, and was buried on 8th December 1833 at St.James's Cemetery, Liverpool.
Robert and Margaret had the following children:-Jessie, who was born on 19th November 1801 at Leeces St.,
Liverpool, christend at St.Peter's Church, Liverpool on 5th May 1802. She died at Gore St., Liverpool and was buried at St.James's Cemetery on 18th July 1815.
John (baker), who was born 1802/3, and christend at Pitt St.Church, Liverpool on 5th August 1804. He married Catherine who was born in 1794/5 in Montgomeryshire. Catherine died in Bolton and was buried at St. James's Cemetery, Liverpool on 18th March 1877.
Robert (tailor), who was born on 11th July 1806 at Downe St., Liverpool, and christend at St. Peter's Church, Liverpool on 17th August 1806. He married Ann Murgatroyd at St George's Church, Liverpool on 20th July 1834. Ann was born in Liverpool in 1809/10, and her father was John Murgatroyd, a tailor, who was born in 1776/7 at Cockermouth, Cumberland.
James, who was born on 10th September 1808 at Thurlow St., Liverpool and christend at St.Peter's Church, Liverpool on 20th November 1808.
George (merchant's clerk), who was born on 6th May 1811, and christend at St. Peter's Church, Liverpool on 8th May 1811.
Thomas, who was born about 1814 at Roscoe Lane, Liverpool, and christend at St.Peter's Church, Liverpool on 18th September 1814.
Richard Parkinson (shipwright), who was my great great grandfather, was born about 1817 at Dovey or Dover St., Harrington, Liverpool, and christend at St.Peter's Church, Liverpool on 10th September 1817.
Joseph (baker), was born about 1821, and christend at St. Peter's Church, Liverpool on 12th August 1821. He married Elizabeth Scott at St. Peter's Church, Liverpool on 22nd July 1850. Elizabeth's father was Edward Scott, a teacher.
